Monza, maggio 2026 – AND Ente del Terzo Settore presenta dal 6 giugno al 5 luglio 2026, nello Spazio espositivo del MO.CA - Centro per le Nuove Culture di Brescia, la mostra collettiva This Is The End che riunisce le opere degli artisti: Elisa Cella, Nicola Evangelisti, Mahnaz Ekhtiary, Nadia Galbiati, Loredana Galante, Roberto Ghezzi, Silvia Levenson, Andrea Meregalli, Silvia Serenari e Matteo Suffritti. 

This Is The End, la prima mostra organizzata da AND Ente del Terzo Settore, è nata quando l’entusiasmo della ripresa del post pandemia è stato abbattuto dalla notizia dell’invasione dell’Ucraina. 

Da quel momento in poi è emersa la consapevolezza che il mondo stesse cambiando molto velocemente. La conferma è arrivata da una serie di eventi che hanno travolto l’intera popolazione: la crisi finanziaria, due guerre alle nostre porte, la crisi iraniana, le crisi energetiche, la minaccia nucleare, la siccità, le inondazioni, l’aumento vertiginoso della popolazione mondiale e l’arrivo dell’Intelligenza Artificiale.

Tutto questo si è innestato in problematiche sempre più pressanti di cambiamenti climatici e di migrazioni di popoli che scappano dalle guerre, dalla povertà e dalle conseguenze che il riscaldamento globale sta generando. In occidente, non passa settimana senza che il bollettino dei femminicidi e degli abusi non sia aggiornato. Le donne, in tanti paesi, vedono ridurre o abolire i loro diritti. Il mondo come lo conoscevamo sta cambiando molto velocemente, le crisi che ci investono si affastellano e mettono a dura prova la nostra capacità di gestione e di adattamento. 

Da quando questa mostra è stata pensata e dalla prima volta in cui è stata esposta, nella Sala dei Convegni della Villa Reale di Monza nel 2024, quella che era una sensazione ed una possibilità è diventata una certezza: il mondo come lo percepivamo fino a poco tempo fa è cambiato. Quell’ingenua promessa di pace, prosperità, diritti acquisiti e civiltà evoluta, quella sensazione che si sarebbe andati verso il meglio, che avevamo dato per scontato come occidentali, è già stata messa in discussione. 

Il titolo scelto per la mostra è ispirato alla canzone dei Doors che Coppola scelse come colonna sonora della prima indimenticabile scena del film Apocalypse Now (1979), liberamente ispirato dal libro Cuore di tenebra di Joseph Conrad. Tutti e tre (canzone, film e libro) fanno riflettere sull’orrore, sulla follia e sulla psicologia umana. La mostra vuole essere infatti un grido proposto dagli artisti, da sempre sensibili alle vibrazioni che il mondo produce e custodi della loro rielaborazione.

Monza, May 2026 – AND Ente del Terzo Settore presents the group exhibition This Is The End from June 6 to July 5, 2026, at the MO.CA - Center for New Cultures exhibition space in Brescia. The exhibition brings together the works of artists Elisa Cella, Nicola Evangelisti, Mahnaz Ekhtiary, Nadia Galbiati, Loredana Galante, Roberto Ghezzi, Silvia Levenson, Andrea Meregalli, Silvia Serenari, and Matteo Suffritti.

This Is The End, the first exhibition organized by AND Ente del Terzo Settore, came about when the enthusiasm for the post-pandemic recovery was dashed by the news of the invasion of Ukraine.

From that moment on, the awareness emerged that the world was changing very rapidly. Confirmation came from a series of events that have overwhelmed the entire population: the financial crisis, two wars on our doorstep, the Iranian crisis, energy crises, the nuclear threat, droughts, floods, the skyrocketing world population, and the arrival of Artificial Intelligence.

All of this has been compounded by the increasingly pressing issues of climate change and the migration of people fleeing war, poverty, and the consequences of global warming. In the West, not a week goes by without an updated bulletin of femicides and abuses. Women in many countries are seeing their rights reduced or abolished. The world as we knew it is changing rapidly; the crises affecting us are piling up and severely testing our ability to manage and adapt.

Since this exhibition was conceived and first displayed in the Conference Hall of the Royal Villa of Monza in 2024, what was once a feeling and a possibility has become a certainty: the world as we perceived it until recently has changed. That naive promise of peace, prosperity, vested rights, and an advanced civilization, that sense of progress toward betterment, which we had taken for granted as Westerners, has already been challenged.

The title chosen for the exhibition is inspired by the Doors song that Coppola chose as the soundtrack to the unforgettable first scene of the film Apocalypse Now (1979), loosely based on Joseph Conrad's book Heart of Darkness. All three (song, film, and book) provoke reflection on horror, madness, and human psychology. The exhibition aims to be a cry proposed by artists who have always been sensitive to the vibrations the world produces and are the custodians of their reworking.
